On behalf of The University of Tennessee and our leadership team, we seek your support in collaborating with TEAM UT.  TEAM UT will work directly with the New Orleans Host Super Bowl XLVII Committee in preparing special events and continue to build on the positive brand equity and reputation of the organization.  TEAM UT is a group of top undergraduate and graduate students selected through an intensive interview process and is making plans to work at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.  TEAM UT has been a part of Super Bowls XLI (Miami), XLII (Arizona), XLIII (Tampa), XLIV (Miami), XLV (Texas), and XLVI (Indianapolis).

Dr. Fritz G. Polite, clinical professor of Sport Management and Founding Director of the Institute for Leadership, Ethics, and Diversity created TEAM UT for students to merge theoretical constructs into practical application. The project allows students to work behind the scenes gaining valuable insight into the workings of a world-class event. TEAM UT members are responsible for all aspects of development related to the trip, which will include community outreach programs working with non-profits.  Past Super Bowl experiences have enhanced the experiential learning applications of TEAM UT students and assisted in obtaining jobs in the NFL and other sport industries.

 TEAM UT must fund the entire trip through private fundraising and sponsorship support from people like you.  These costs include travel, hotel, food, and any other expenses involved in the trip to New Orleans.      To help raise this money, there will be a golf tournament held on November 5, 2012.  TEAM UT will also be holding a silent auction at the Irish Times and Pub on November 18, 2012.  Team UT asks for your consideration in sponsoring our students, the program, and supporting this highly important opportunity.
